Here I show my top 10 favorite games.
I dont choose my top games by graphics or realism, but how good being in that world made me feel, how fun it is to explore and see all the detail, how engaging it is, how cozy it is, for me the whole vibe and gameplay are what matter most in a game, I am an anxious person so if a game made me forget about life and managed to make me lose track of time its probably in this list, now that I look back at it, a lot of these were from my childhood ahah
This one is a recent 1st place, but it just felt right playing in this world, all the small details came together to form a great world and athmosphere, the climb of death mountain finding travallers along the way, the soft music, the occasional dust flying, the animals, even the rain, for me this world felt really cozy, not to mention how invested I was after seeing Zelda cry, even got all the korok seeds just to keep playing.
Yes this is not one game but a series, this is my favorite series of the N64, really fun and the game that starting my love for adventure platformer games, fun gameplay, colorful graphics, cool characters, what more do you need?
Mostly for the same reasons I like Banjo, color graphics, stylized and fun, not tying to be serious or realistic, this was going to be a series, I love the other 3 games, yes even JakX (we dont talk about the lost frontier), mainly the third, love desert settings....but yea a fun game
This one was also a recent one, it was released for the ps vita but I played it on pc, the Ex+ part gives it a new story and a new optional ending and a lot of other stuff, I always hated games with time limits but always wanted to try persona, well, this is "persona at home" where a group of high schoolers try to defeat some monster invasion, for me felt like playing an anime, got really invested in it during a lazy summer and best of all, no time limit
Guess what? The reason I like this one was similar to past games, colorful, really cozy world, awesome music, and athmosphere that feels whimsical and a bit eerie at some parts, I used to play it right before sleep already in bed, which made for some good memories and a very cozy game for me
In this game you are a slave that has some weird dreams and embarks on an adventure to find what they mean, and thats what amazed me, this game feels like a huge adventure, very diverse levels where you travel around the world and even to space at times, you can see parts of the world and even past levels when you are flying which makes this game feel huge and again, stylised graphics.
Ok for this one I could have put Dark Cloud here but I never had the chance to play it properly, but this one was another one of my "summer games" where, like tokyo xanadu, this was the one game I played during that summer vacation, A friend lent me the game once but I only bought it years later for the ps3, and thats when I finished it, a quite simple action RPG but with a very good athmosphere, or maybe its all nostalgia, I dunno
Remember when I said I like desert settings in games? yep, thats the reason I loved FFXII, like Dark Chronicles I played it on the ps2 but only managed to finish it later, this time on the ps4
Ah this one is fun, you control a car in a world of cars and race in championships to become the next president, this game has an open world with a lot of towns where cars live, its basically a carPG, you can do quests, it has a lot of minigames and upgrade your car, in my opinion its just a good time to play
This game is from the same devs as Road Trip but this time with talking tanks, its a bit shorter and the open world is in the style of the PS1 Final Fantasies, starts slow but after a few upgrades it becomes really fun, it has secret parts and bosses too so again a good time
